Equipment Management with ProContractorMX

Posted on August 25, 2011 by Quest

With ProContractorMX, you can track the location of each piece of equipment and capture your equipment usage as costs and then bill to every project – that’s managing for increased profitability!

User-defined usage types (idle, repair, etc.) and user-defined billing rates may be created for each piece of equipment; and utilization reporting helps you maximize use of equipment. Equipment usage (hours, kilometers, etc.) and costs from timecards may be applied directly to projects and task codes, allowing contractors true project costing of this capital-intensive part of a construction business.

Bill as Costs to Projects

While tracking equipment location and utilization to each project and cost code, also track the cost of ownership including repairs, parts, labour, and monthly depreciation. Apply cost of ownership to each piece of equipment through AP, Journal Entries, and Payroll, using cost codes to break down each expense. Using the purchase order system allows direct purchase (of repair parts, for example) to equipment and committed costs against equipment for financial analysis.

Equipment Maintenance

ProContractorMX can help minimize the costs associated with equipment repairs and to keep your equipment active at your jobsites. Use Equipment Maintenance to create various work items to perform maintenance on company-owned equipment and to automatically generate logs of due dates. You’ll be able to make sure that important maintenance is done in a timely manner.

Invoicing and Reports

Multiple billing rates allows for easy customer invoicing. Valuable reports show equipment usage and cost to operate, so you can see how much a piece of equipment is earning versus how much it is costing. This allows you to manage for increased profitability, by piece of equipment, by equipment profit center as a whole, by project, and by cost code.

Virtual Filing

You can keep copies of equipment insurance certificates, repair bills, pictures, and more in the solution’s virtual filing system, in order to conveniently access details any time
